Running a Kingdom Class Practice

A financial services practice is a business, which is many ways is like any other.  It requires several things to be successful, including ethical practices, attention to detail, a servant mindset, and no shortage of hard work.  In this course, we have studied Biblical perspectives on money and possessions generally, and focused on saving and investing, as well as how to effectively use these investments.  In this module we will look at the other items that we have learned with a focus on how to integrate Biblical values into the business model of the independent financial adviser.  In other words, how do we use the tools that we have learned about and integrate them into the practice of advising clients about investments and finance?

There are several things to consider.

  • How should I build my practice?
  • How should I serve my existing clients?
  • As a Christian, am I subject to a higher standard when it comes to my business ethics?  How do I live up to that standard?
  • How do I deal with the non-Christian client in my practice?  Should I give the same advice or should I advise based on the faith of the client?
  • Is my business model consistent with the Biblically based advice discussed in this course?
    • If not, how should I change my business model?
    • Is there a Biblically based business model?
  • Who am I partnering with?  Am I equally yoked?
  • What is something happens to me?
    • What happens to my clients?
    • My business?
    • My family?
  • What about business continuity and succession planning?
